8 plate getting closer…
With the holidays, I haven’t been able to update in a while. We did get xrays taken again at Childrens (life just got to hectic – we never made it down to West Palm as we initially wanted too). It’s always an interesting experience going to Childrens. I think probably for most conditions, Boston Childrens is a fabulous place to be… but every time we go in there, I get questioned and looked at strangely about why I would be sending xrays to another doctor…
Anyhow – the 8 plates are doing their jobs… he’s getting closer to straight. Dr. P said we’re getting there… another 3 months… then we’ll maybe be ready for removal… at least of the knee.
Also – this week Dr. P put out a press release on the new procedure they are doing… just amazing. It will truly be amazing to see what his office looks like in a few years… with the advancement of technology, we may just eventually see external fixators disappear! If I was a parent with a new baby being born today with FH or other limb issues, I think I would just take a deep breath and hope this advancement means less intrusive, infection prone procedures!
